President of the Board of the Polish Union of Footballers (PZP) Euzebiusz Smolarek participated in the FIFPro congress in Sydney Australia last week. During the meeting of the International Federation of Footballers’ Unions it was officially confirmed that PZP functioned within the structures of the global FIFPro family.

PZP has always tried to support players and being a member of an international organization helps us achieve this and at the same time makes our activities more credible. The transparency of the Polish Union of Footballers and the active commitment of the members of our organization reassured the FIFPro authorities that we are a trustworthy partner – said Euzebiusz Smolarek, President of the Board of the Polish Union of Footballers.

He then added: During the Congress in Australia, I had the opportunity to meet and talk to many important people representing Footballers Unions from around the world. During such meetings there was no shortage of substantive conversations regarding the ongoing work for the players. We are pleased that PZP, which represents the interests of football players on a daily basis at all levels of national competitions, will be able to actively develop its activities also in the international arena, and hence it will be able to bring new values and experiences to the functioning of the world federation of FIFPro trade unions.

The congress took place in Sydney on November 12-15. FIFPro is an international organization uniting national associations defending the rights and interests of footballers, and its goal is to support players around the world. Thanks to the full membership in FIFPro, players belonging to the Polish Polish Union of Footballers are provided with a variety of assistance in the member countries of the organization.

– We are pleased and at the same time proud that the international organization appreciates the work of PZP. A few weeks ago, Simon Colosimo from FIFPro visited Poland and was impressed by how organized and united the PZP is. This only confirms our belief that we are doing a good job. We operate transparently and at the same time we offer players a range of services that help them not only solve legal problems, but also protect their careers, health and prepare for life after the last match, the so-called second career. The Polish Union of Footballers works solely to support players. – said Maciej Krzemiński, Legal Advisor of PZP.

PZP is an independent organization that brings together the largest number of players in Poland and has been active on their behalf for many years. The Polish Union of Footballers is the only organization of players included in the Polish Football Association (PZPN) statute, as the official representative of the players’ community entitled to recommend members to the Chamber for Solving Sport Disputes.
